Working with Triggers: A Body-Based Perspective
10/12
6:30-8pm
It seems like everywhere we look nowadays people are talking about triggers. What exactly are triggers, and how can we learn to identify and work with them from a body-based perspective? Join Jessica Schaffer, Nervous System Health Educator and Wellness Mentor for an evening exploring the physiological underpinnings of your personal hotspots. Jessica will explain how the body (and specifically the nervous system) is primed to react to cues of danger. When our bodies are activated and in this state of "survival physiology," we are less capable of choosing behaviors that will lead us back to safety and connection. Jessica will offer insight into how to work directly with your body to recognize when you are being triggered, and she will introduce some practical tools to help you navigate the experience of being triggered in a new, body-conscious way.
