What can you expect from me?

I love what I do. I am truly engaged in my work and am constantly reading, learning, and practicing. I currently work with dancers and instructors at Studio Nia and Oregon Ballet Theatre.

When I am in session with you, I am not distracted by other concerns. I don't work myself to exhaustion. I am not afraid of your injuries or pain, and I don't believe that you should be either.

I recognize that the body is multi-faceted. As a part of helping you into a full and comfortable relationship with your body, I often recommend that you see other care providers during the course of our work. While I don't send every client to other practitioners, I stand by all of my referrals and know that they will take as good care of you as I will.

What can you expect from the work?

The great majority of my clients experience full resolution of their injuries. They experience the freedom that comes with the disappearance of chronic discomfort and restriction, and increased range and ease of motion. A lot of them end up feeling better than they did before the injury happened.

Of course, there is no magic wand and what you get out of our sessions will be exactly proportional to what you put into them. I am not doing something to you, I am pointing the way and making strong, educated suggestions. The rest is up to you.

                  About Amber

I received my B.A. from Lewis & Clark College and several years later attended East West College for my massage training. I was greatly influenced by my time with Debbie Taylor and Jonathan Primack, both of whom are highly accomplished therapists in their own practices. My style of massage reflects a melding of each of theirs, Jonathan's focusing primarily on the mechanics of the physical body and an innate and encyclopaedic knowledge of kinesiology, and Debbie's deeply rooted in Ayurvedic and East Asian tradition and learning. I am fortunate to have such deeply committed teachers and mentors and I strive to embrace the best of what they have taught me in my own practice.
